Zoe

Zoe Puppy FDNT, DN1, DN2, PCD
My older dog, hmmm is 4 old? I guess when you’re older than 3 it is. Zoe and I have been having lots of fun with our doggy endeavours. We are currently working on obtaining our CD in Obedience and our DN3 in freestyle.

Zoe has some initials behind her name. FDNT stands for Freestyle Dog Novice Team, we were part of a drill team routine and earned our level 1 title a couple of years ago, here’s a link to our routine on YouTube
We have been trying to get our next level but have been unsuccessful. Hopefully with our new routine we’ll wow all the judges this spring. DN1 and DN2 are for her Dressage routines. We’ve been working very hard on precision heeling and finally achieved our 2nd level just this last summer. In dressage one must have certain elements of difficulty in your routine. Level 1 requires that your dog maintain the heel position no matter how fast, slow or which side you heel on. There are no tricks like spins or weaves in dressage unless they are used to change from one side to the other or to change direction. In Level 2 our level of difficulty increased to where Zoe was required to backup in a straight line, in the heel position, to 4 of my steps. We took 3 tries at this level before we finally achieved our DN2 title. We had a hard time with keeping our backups straight. But practice and persistence paid off in the end. Now we’re working on level 3 where we not only have to backup straight but we must do 4 side passes in both directions. I think we’ve almost got those side passes figured out. Zoe has also been competing in the obedience ring and has finished her Pre-Companion Dog title and we have only one more leg to get to finish our Companion Dog (CD) title. We have also been working on our Rally-O Novice title and so far have 1 leg towards that. Zoe has also had a taste of Agility and I’m sure will make a super agility dog, once we finish our obedience titles, that’s next on our list.

Zoe is a fun, energetic little dog who greets all her friends, either canine or human, with great enthusiasm.
